Chim↑Pom es un colectivo de artistas japoneses constituido en el año 2005 y surgido de la “generación perdida” de jóvenes crecidos tras el estallido de la burbuja económica de principio de siglo. Chim↑Pom inventan formas ingeniosas de crítica social a través de proyectos paradójicos o absurdos, con querencia por todo lo que se considera marginal o peligroso, revulsivo del higienismo y el nihilismo consumistas, desde “super-ratas” disecadas hasta oficinas de turismo americanas en México o subastas de restos de minas en zonas de guerra.

En 2011, tras el colapso de la central nuclear de Fukushima, se colaron en la zona de exclusión para documentar y llevar a cabo actos de guerrilla simbólica que acabaron plasmando una obra coral con otros artistas y los antiguos habitantes. Imprevisibles y autodidactas, la aventura y la transgresión de las reglas -en un país tan celoso de las suyas- son para ellos una táctica capaz de garantizar el deseo de libertad y la solidaridad con las grandes y pequeñas víctimas de la sociedad del control.
